Rachel Bridenstine

Managing Director, Development Fund of the Western Reserve

Rachel directs and manages financial initiatives and develops financial, budget and business plans for Development Fund of the Western Reserve (DFWR) and its subsidiaries. She is responsible for DFWR’s financial processes as well as oversees all investments and their outcome tracking, program compliance monitoring, fiscal compliance monitoring and program reporting. Rachel also participates in strategic planning initiatives to further support the vision, mission, services and products of DFWR and to ensure effective and efficient operations. She works closely with borrowers, investors, other CDEs, and government, business and community agencies. Regularly attending community meetings and events, Rachel prepares and disseminates information and training to communities and businesses – specifically in regards to the New Markets Tax Credit program. As well as managing or assisting in managing the closings of all DFWR projects, Rachel ensures compliance standards are met and all necessary information is properly reported including financial reporting to the DFWR boards, annual audits, and NMTC program requirements which includes extensive reporting to the Community Development Financial Institutions Fund of the U.S. Treasury Department. Her management of DFWR’s accounting procedures has also resulted in clean, unqualified audits for DFWR and its subsidiaries.

During her tenure with DFWR, Rachel has participated in and managed investments of over $65M in Northeast Ohio Low-Income Communities and Businesses, bringing approximately 700 permanent quality jobs to distressed communities.

Rachel has 10 years of experience in accounting, office management, development and marketing. She has worked in the non-profit sector and other community outreach organizations in the Akron area. Rachel graduated from Hiram College and has completed additional coursework at The University of Akron.

Rachel resides in Rootstown with her husband and three young sons. She volunteers her time as a Cub Scout Leader and is also a musician and children’s choir director in the Akron area.
