Anna King
Senior Project Manager
Anna King is the Senior Project Manager at the Development Finance Authority of Summit County, where she leads mission-driven investments and economic development initiatives aimed at creating inclusive, sustainable growth throughout the region. She oversees projects across DFA and its affiliated entities—the Development Fund of the Western Reserve and the Western Reserve Community Fund—bringing complex financial tools to life through collaborative planning, execution, and compliance.
With over 14 years of professional experience and a background spanning forensic chemistry, business administration, and finance, Anna blends analytical precision with a passion for community impact. She specializes in innovative financing mechanisms such as New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC), PACE, TIF, energy efficiency lending, and affordable housing and general loan funds. Her leadership ensures each transaction meets strict fiscal, legal, and programmatic standards, unlocking private capital for the public good.
Anna’s commitment to equitable development was born during a 2009 mission trip focused on sustainable community-building in a rural region, where she witnessed firsthand the power of grassroots economic solutions. This experience inspired her career shift from chemistry to finance, allowing her to channel her skills into improving lives and expanding access to opportunity.
Educated at Ohio University (B.S. in Forensic Chemistry, with minors in Biological Sciences and Forensic Accounting) and the University of Akron (B.B.A.), Anna has consistently been recognized for operational leadership, employee training, and system development that improves efficiency and financial transparency. She takes particular pride in managing NMTC transactions, embracing their complexity and advocating for their value in revitalizing underserved communities.
What Anna values most at DFA is the team's shared belief in their mission and their collaborative, transparent culture. Outside of work, she enjoys kayaking, hiking with her husband and German Shepherd, gardening, and traveling to new places. A dedicated community volunteer, she contributes her time to Hospice, Main Street Kent, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and more. She also loves playing soccer, photography, and reading historical fiction and biographies.
